Here We Go. . .

Well folks, we are almost there! The wedding to end all weddings! The party of the century! And only eight years in the making!! This past week has been flying by with work and errands! Tracey got up here on Wednesday night. The flower got here Thursday morning! They are so beautiful and we had so much fun arranging them! It is a lot of work, but I am so glad that I decided to go the DIY route!! Thank you to Mom for working so hard on the bouts and corsages! Everything looks gorgeous!

Today the Moms and I are going to get mani's and pedi's, then it is a busy day of packing!! Then, let the parties begin with the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner! The dumb rain will be keeping the dinner inside instead of out, but I am sure that everything will still be wonderful! Keep your fingers crossed that the weather for tomorrow holds and I can't wait to see you all there!

Here are some more pictures from our flower arranging adventure! I ordered way too many flowers!! http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm160/arolin1/Wedding%20Related/

I am not sure yet if we are going to be taking our laptop to Costa Rica. I would love to be able to share our pictures with you all, but to be quite honest we will probably have better things to do! Keep checking back here to see!

We did set up a site for everyone to upload their wedding pictures to, so check it out! Hopefully people will actually do it! www.photobucket.com/derrickandsarahwedding

I think that is all for now! See you soon! We love you all!

Memorial Day Weekend

Hope that you all had a wonderful, fun, and safe Memorial Day weekend! Ah, why can't every weekend be a four day weekend? The weather was wonderful and we had a spectacular time!

Friday we met Heath at Gilbert's Chowdah House downtown for some beers and chowdah. Derrick tried mussels for the first time and he really likes them a lot! Then he met a few of the guys out at the awesome bar in Gray, and I went home to bed! Yup.
Saturday was another beautiful day! We went to the Garden Spot again and picked up the last of our veggie seedlings for the year, as well as some more flowers for the deck. Then I went out with the ladies for my second bachelorette party! We went to Mesa Verde for dinner and then to Bubba's and Oasis for some more drinks and dancing. While I was gone, the guys hung out with Derrick. They had a bonfire and finally burned our Christmas tree! (see pictures on photobucket). Jason brought a gigantic cheeseburger pizza, which I guess was quite delicious! Again, see pictures on photobucket.
I had a blast at my bachelorette-take-two, but I paid for it the next day! I was quite sick the next day and I slept until 1:30, which is something I don't think I have done since college! I wasn't too sick for the BBQ at Katie and Brad's house though! Good food and good friends! The weather was nice and Derrick won a few rounds of beer pong! Good times!
On Monday, my parents and grandparents came over for a BBQ! Despite the wind it was another gorgeous day! We decided to get some lobsters, which everyone enjoyed despite the fact that our lobster crackers were not very useful! We played a couple of games of horseshoes (I got a ringer!!!) and chatted for a while. It was great to get to spend time with my grandparents who I don't get to see very often!
All in all it was a great weekend and we were very sad to see it end! But now we get to look forward to this weekend and the exciting event!! We can't wait!

The lawnmower and a few other things

So, I should amend the bit about starting to stalk the 10 day forecast. . . as of today I can see the weather up until the 29th. Which is good since the rehearsal dinner is hopefully going to be outside too! Right now it looks like it is going to be in the 60s and sunny, so that is good! Let's just hope that it stays that way:)

And, since I know that you have been waiting on pins and needles, here is a picture of our new riding lawnmower! Isn't it awesome!!

We got the tickets and what not for the honeymoon yesterday! So we are all set to go! Now all we need to do is pack! We better pack a lot since I bet we won't want to come back! Don't worry, we will let you all know if we decide to stay in Costa Rica and become coffee farmers or some such! You can come visit!

I guess that is it for now! See you all in ten days!

And Now for Something Completely Different!

Ok, so not really! Cause, let's face it, there generally isn't anything different going on!

So, I guess I should catch you up! Friday was my Mom's graduation from Seacoast Career Schools! Awesome job Mom! Saturday Derrick went disc golfing and I went shopping with Chrissy. I had a lot of fun and got to spend my Victoria's Secret gift cards! :) We then managed to get a BBQ in before it rained. Sunday we got to spend a rare day at the house alone with no plans! Our house is so clean and it was great to spend some time together!

I am so excited to get to start stalking the 10 day forecast tomorrow! So far it looks like the end of next week is going to be pretty nice! Let's just hope that it stays that way!

Other than the wedding, we are starting our gardening for the year! We won't be able to do too much until we get back from Costa Rica, but we have managed to get some veggies and flowers in! Here are a few pics of what we have done so far!

And, I ment to include this in my Mother's Day post, but here is a link to a blog that I read and enjoy frequently: http://www.becauseisaidso.com/

Also, since I am not a fan of the picture upload capabilities of the blog, I decided that uploading pictures to PhotoBucket would be better! So, here is a link to more garden pictures!

Another Day. . .

I need to apologize to anyone who reads this blog - whether you have happened upon it accidentally, or whether you were directed here by the obligations of friends and family. Clearly we are not very exciting people. We are normal people. The fact that I might have something to write about on a regular basis seems like a far off concept to me. But perhaps someday. . .

So, with that said, on to the biggest topic of the season - the epic, amazing, stupendous wonderfullness that is our wedding! We are at less than 20 days to go and I can't wait until I can stalk the 10-day forecast!

The rehearsal dinner is all scheduled at Gritty's. As long as it doesn't rain, we will be outside by the Androscoggin river and we will have a dedicated bar tender and wait staff. The food will be an assortment of ribs, shrimp kabobs, and sausage! Thank you very much to Nola for getting everything all set up! I am sure that it will be wonderful!

Otherwise, I think we are doing pretty good! The biggest thing that we have left to work on is the seating chart! Hopefully that will go smoothly!

I am still working on getting Derrick to post about his bachelor party, but we will see!

And, in other news, we bought a riding lawn mower!! Yessss!! It comes with a cart and an airator! I am so excited! I might actually enjoy mowing the lawn! We will be picking it up on Thursday, and believe me, the lawn NEEDS to be mown! It has become to be difficult to see the cats when they are in the yard! LOL! Thank you very much to Roger and Gail for their wonderful wedding gift which allowed us to make this awesome upgrade!!

That is all I can think of for now! But, if you are bored and looking for something to do, try this:

Talk to you soon!

Happy Mother's Day!

I know I am a little bit late, but for all those Mothers and Grandmothers out there. . .

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

A Mother's Love
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.

Party Time!!

So, this weekend was chock full of parties! Derrick spent the weekend in Atlantic City for his bachelor party. I will try to get him to write a post about the trip, but I am not sure what the likelyhood is of it actually happening. It sounds like they all had a blast though!

While he was gone, I spent the weekend with my sister! And, my Mom and Chrissy threw me the best bridal shower ever on Saturday. I had soooo much fun!!! All of my friends and family are so wonderful!! It was at the Chandler House B&B in New Gloucester which is an awesome place. We ate some food and played a few games. Then a bunch of us hung out at my house and polished off the wine! It was a great time and I love all of my gifts! Thank you to every one who attended, and to everyone that couldn't make it! Now for some pictures of the event.

This is the awesome cake that a friend of Chrissy's made! It had two layers of strawberry cake and a layer of chocolate cake. There was so much left over that I had to freeze the top layer! It was delicious though!

This is from a game that we played - my Mom had called Derrick earlier in the week and asked him a bunch of questions. Then the girls each took a little shot glass filled with puckers and asked me the question on the glass. If I got the question wrong, I took the shot. If I got the question right, then she took the shot! There was also gum for those that could not or didn't want to drink. Some of those questions were hard!! I got a fair amount right though!! But, I have to admit that I was a little buzzed when the game was done! LOL!!

Me and Memere!
Family!!!!

It was so much fun! I can't wait to use all of the wonderful things that everyone got me! Thank you all so much! See you soon!
